Registration FAQs

What does the status in more info required box mean?

Dam Microchip 

We do not hold on record the dam's microchip number, you will need to send via email to the pedigree secretary processing the registration an official document showing the registered name of the cat and the microchip number. Examples include vaccination card, passport or the registration documents from the microchipping company. Please note microchip barcode stuck to the pedigree is not acceptable. 

Sire Microchip 

We do not hold on record the sire's microchip number, you will need to send via email to the pedigree secretary processing the registration an official document showing the registered name of the cat and the microchip number. Examples include vaccination card, passport or the registration documents from the microchipping company. Please note microchip barcode stuck to the pedigree is not acceptable. 

CoE

We do not hold on record a certificate of entirety; all male cats over 10 months or prior to offspring be registered must have a CoE.  You will need to send via email to the pedigree secretary processing the registration a certificate of entirety signed by a vet. You will find a blank copy of the certificate of entirety here

CoH

We do not hold on record a certificate of hearing for one or both parents, you will need to send via email to the pedigree secretary processing the registration a certificate of hearing signed by a vet.  A certificate of hearing is required for all solid white cats before they can be shown or their offspring can be registered. You will find a blank copy of the certificate of entirety here

Mating Certificate

If you are not the registered owner or you co-own the sire a mating certificate is required to be signed by yourself and the stud owner. You will need to email your pedigree secretary with a copy of the signed mating certificate. You will find a blank copy of the mating certificate here

Genetics Test

Certain breeds require genetic tests prior to registration of offspring.  More info on genetics testing can be found here. You will need to email your pedigree secretary with a copy of genetics testing where the cats microchip number was verified by the vet at the time the sample was taken. 

Colour

Please check the email from the pedigree secretary as there is a query over the offspring's colour. More info on  cat colour and the genetics  of it is available here 

Name

Please check the email from the pedigree secretary as there is a query over one or more of the kittens name. A cats name must differ enough from that of another kitten from the same  cattery  so as not to be easily confused. A cat or kittens name must also not exceed 35 characters including the cattery name and spaces. 

How long does the registration process take?

The registration process takes 4-6 weeks upon receipt of the completed paperwork.

Import Registrations Only 

On rare occasions  when a cat is being imported into the Felis Britannica pedigree book and there is a query there may be a delay whilst we wait for the original registry to get back to us. The pedigree secretary will be in contact with you and let you know if this is the case.
